The Manchester United squad have lost up to six players this summer, the six players announced their departures early this summer. Players like Paul Pogba, Lee Grant, Edison Cavani, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard are no more a United player and they announced their departures at the of the 2021/2022 season.
Seven (7) free agents Man United could still sign this summer.
Having about six players already out of the team a lot of vacuum have been created for the new Coach Erik ten Hag to fill before the coming season. The Coach had got a limited budget available to him but can he take advantage of the free-agent market?
- Christan Erikson
- Ousmane Dembele
- Paulo Dybala
- Dries Mertens
- Alessio Romagnoli
- James Tarkowski
- Florian Grillitsch
1. Christian Erikson
According to Manchester evening news, Erikson is understood to be one of Erik ten Hag's prior target this summer. The Dutch coach got impressed by the midfielder when he trained at Ajax, and the club have made offer to his agent.
He's got an offer from Brentford the club he played for last season. We know sooner he would probably make a decision on whether to go for the Manchester club or the London club.
2. Ousmane Dembele
We actually got Jadon Sancho on ground, but United still need to solve the issue on the right wing. The Question is could Dembele be the solution to the problem United are facing on the right wing? Here's a summary of his performance in La liga last season.
Ousmane Dembele despite being plaugued by injury, he was the top assister in La liga last season. He, with 13 assists and just 21 games finished as the top assister ahead of Vinicious and Benzema. This is how unstoppable he is creatively!
3. Paulo Dybala
Cristiano Ronaldo is the only natural striker Man United have got currently following the departure of Edison Cavani. Dybala has always been a second striker throughout his career and he could be used as false nine if he comes to Man United.
The only barrier now is the player's substantial wage demands. And we can't determine yet if the ex-juventus star would want to try a life outside Italy or would want to remain there.
4. Dries Mertens
Mertens is a 35-year old forward, he can play in several positions. With Anthony likely to be "priced out" of transfer this summer he could be an option to fill the void United needed Anthony to fill.
5. Alessio Romagnoli
Here, we've got a free-agent who is capable with playing as a left-footed centre-back. The 27 years old was part of the AC Milan team that won a title last season.
6. James Tarkowski
This guy has been a good centre-back, though not really a starting option, his move from Oldham Athletic to United would be a great story to narrate. That would be a 'rags to riches story'.
7. Florian Grillitsch
The red devils fans have for years now been demanding for a capable defensive midfielder but everything looks like United will be having a look at some other options this summer. Grillitsch could be utilized as a replacement for Matic and he's got the potential to play as a centre-back
Conclusion
